Kampala Junior Team [KJT]
admin | May 12, 2008The Kampala Junior Team are a talented group of boys aged from 5 to 18 years in one of the poorest areas of Kampala. Many are orphans or come from desperately poor families. KJT gives them more than just the opportunity to develop their footballing talents, it gives them a sense of fun, hope and community and helps to feed, clothe and care for the most needy of them . Some of the team members are unable to attend school, although they would dearly love to, simply because they have no-one to pay their school fees. Some are able to attend school only because the KJT organisers obtained scholarships for them on the strength of their footballing skills.
We urgently need your help and support so that we can :
- Continue to support and care for the children and young people who come to us for help and encouragement in Kampala, whilst working closely whenever possible with their surviving relatives so that they too are actively involved in the process
- Enable the KJT football team to attend Regional and National tournaments and sporting events
- Pursue our long-term goal of establishing an Academy providing opportunities for all Ugandan boys and girls - be they aspiring artists, musicians, writers, craftsmen, or entrepreneurs - to develop their talents, realise their dreams, and grow into confident and responsible citizens of the world.
KJT has recently grown into a larger concept, One Helping Another, through which we aim to promote our long-term goals. Please contact us if you think you can help us in any way. If you wish to contribute to our funds you can use the Chip-In Link provided on our How You Can Help page.
We urgently need help funding our day-to-day running costs, the purchase of sports equipment and computers, developing the Kampala Junior Team and enriching the lives of many more children through One Helping Another .
We can also arrange sponsorship of individual children who do not yet have the means to attend school, or do not have “that special person” to watch over them and encourage them as a parent would.
Please contact us for more information.
